Favorite Low Protein Food List
As users of this site are adding more and more foods, the entire food list for this web site is getting longer and longer, and consequently, those foods you normally use become harder and harder to find in this list when creating a diet record.
A few weeks back, I added a new feature today called Favorite Low Protein Food List which includes the following functions:
- You will find the “Add to favorites”, “In favorites” and “Delete from favorites” buttons at the bottom of the low protein food screen depending on the food’s current favorite status.
- New food added to the web site will be put into its creator’s favorite food list automatically.
- Favorite low protein food list can be accessed either by “My favorite foods” under the “Reports” menu on the left hand of the main screen or under “My account” from the top menu bar.
The favorite food list is aimed to helping people to tag those foods they normally use into their own favorite list so the food list under creating diet record becomes more tailored to its user’s needs. The diet record part of the feature has not been implemented yet, but eventually, a user’s favorite food list will be used to replace the current food list when entering a new diet record. As you know, the current food list under diet record contains the entire food list on the web site. Using the favorite food list means creating a diet record using a food that has never been used before will become a two-step process, but in the long run, I believe it is a much better approach from both the user experience and the performance perspective.
But before I break the current work flow, I would like to hear your feedback, especially from those who use the web site to enter diet records regularly. Send me an email @ tlee@mypkudiet.com please.
Please note that the first stage of this feature will have little impact on the mobile application, but I do plan to get the local low protein food list on your mobile phone in sync with the favorite food list on the web site in the future.
